Are you a man of your word?
The nobleman have got the virtue of “keep one’s promise”, “He was as good as his words.” “Suit the action to the word” since the ancient times. We usually quote these to describe a man of his words.
No matter in work or everyday life, integrity is the virtue to measure the personal relationship. It is believed that all people would like to get involved with the honest people. Those who always break their promise or the non-noble persons will often be shunned from or expelled.
However, it is inevitable to break one’s promise sometimes. My dear friends, have you got that kind of experience? Do you keep your promise all the time?
From child to adult, I was educated to be integrity from family, school and social. A book I read tells me” Don’t keep promise easily, once you promise, you should keep your promise by whatever. Besides, I read a lots of celebrity biography and recall one sentence that man should be integrity , which Bill. Gates gave 13 advices to young man. Thereby, I always follow it. Usually I try my best to keep my promise.
Of course, when I broke my promise, I would be grief for a long time till now. Even I tried to compensate for it, I still can’t get rid of its shadow. When I went out to get a job for the first time, I came across a girl. The girl was about 3 years younger than me, but we were on the same wavelength. We had a enjoyable time in the bus. Before we said goodbye to each other, she left her address and asked me to keep contact with her by emails, I promised. But working is not good as I expected, I had stopped writing. Then a few years passed and my work got better than before, I guessed her might be in another school, so I hadn’t written any letters to her all the time. This matter made me deeply impression.
I also had an experience that somebody broke his promise to me, which I can’t forget. After graduation, one classmates borrowed much money which about my twice salary from me at that time, though my days was difficult, I still lent to him with sympathetic.
